Sublime peace, ecstatic joy, and thunderstruck awe: terebinth pine, patchouli, brown musk, linden blossom, honey, mallow, blood orange, heliotrope, and golden amber.
Well hello, Wind in the Willows *and* Pink Floyd? Win win! Earthy and hippie-like. I'm going to age this one I think though.
Listen:
Peter Gabriel 1: Car (1977)
Got this for Christmas on CD, had meant to add it to my collection for awhile anyway.
Peter has always been so creative and artistic. This was his first solo album after leaving Genesis.
It's a solid effort, and keeps the progressive sensibility, particularly in "Moribund The Burgermeister".
He also had a smash with "Solisbury Hill" here.

Laurel Canyon: The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Legendary Neighborhood - Michael Walker
In the Los Angeles hills, just north of Sunset Boulevard, lies the neighborhood from where some of the most successful artists / singer-songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s lived and created.
People like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, the Mamas and the Papas, Eagles, Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison... This was the "golden age", the time of wild creativity and wonderful music.
It was an interesting, quick read. I enjoyed it because I'm of course a fan of many of these bands and artists anyway. While kind of uneven in places, and I felt could have been a bit better, I recommend it for something light and fun for fans of the same artists.

So... hi. :) If you're new to my journal, let me know how you found me!
Yes I am new to your journal I received e-mail from my friend we both are part of the do-it team hear in Iowa. Your doing a fanastic job keep it up we love going to the concerts.
We share a legacy of walgreenworkers here on LJ. Other than that, we share a LOT of interests (see my LJ for details) and are even in the same neck of the woods!
I used to be Hippie1973 originally on AOL when I first got online. I've always felt that I was a misplaced hippie (and from your interests, and even though you were born in the 60s, sounds like you're the same way). Nice to meet ya! :)
Nice Site! I was more than impressed. I've linked to you on my site, and added you to my list of sites to check out every day. So Keep on Bloggin' (sung to the Eddie Kendricks melody), and I'll be reading!
Great Blog, Polly. I really enjoyed it. I have now linked to it as well as adding it to my list of blogs I check out every day. So Keep on Bloggin' (Sung to the Eddie Kendricks melody) and I'll be reading.
I just happened to find you because I was trying to find a picture of the back cover of Hard Labor by three dog night...you came up in the google..that back cover used to scare me so bad too...i was so afraid she'd come to life and haunt me or something, it's so eerie..i still have the album but i can't scan or anything like that on my computer...i saw you wrote...here it is...but when i clicked on it, it wouldn't let me see it...is there anyway you can put on your journal so i can download it? my name is Donna by the way...i don't have a live journal but maybe i'll start one...thanks for writing about that album...
Hi Hippie Chick, I'm Sila Lumenn. Stumbled onto your journal when I typed "donny osmond waxwork" into the Google search engine. You came up in second place! Still not sure why you came up, but I checked out your journal and your website and spent obscene amounts of time surfing through The Donny Zone.
I don't journal as much as I used to, but I'm going to add you to my friends list. Maybe you can add me, too.
BTW, I love your mood theme. Any chance you'd be willing to share? ;-)
Please add me back because I think we have some things in common. And I promise I won't bore you with pictures of high-tech racing cars (unless you really wanna see them).
making a t-shirt that says "i love hippy chicks" googled the name and here I am...i am a hippy who was married to a preppy....opposites only attract temporarily....going back to my roots. being myself like you. thanx
i was just surfing livejournal and read some of your thoughts on cpu, i belive there is much to be gained from each other, threw many forms of communication
well talk to you soon peace&have & do what you sought out to accomplish
love your name. I'm a new LJ user. I was just surfing when I found your page. I fell in love with you, cuz of the Beatles quote...Happiness is one, or even maybe, my favorite song of the Beatles. Excuse my poor english. It's my second language. I'm a french speaking person.
So I was wondering if you would be my first LJ friend? Or it's too soon. Do I have to tame you a little bit longer?
I was actually googling "Jeremy Hilary Boob" because I love him and your journal popped up. I love your Jeremy icon and if I could use it, I would be thrilled. You can check my profile, I always credit.
Have friended you as well. I was really enjoying your music posts. I love talking about (and listening to of course!) music. Hope you will add back!
And I see you mentioning Pet Sounds. One of my all time favourites. I can honestly say my life would be completely different had I never heard the Beach Boys.

Hi there! I saw your username on SnS and had to check out your profile (my friends and family have nicknamed me the reincarnated hippie), and saw we have lots of things in common. I'd like to friend you, if that's ok?
